If you have a family member who has been arrested, you may want to know how you can get them out of jail until their trial. The court may have set a bail amount which you can provide to the court in order to get your family member out of jail. Jail Location
You need to know where your family member is in jail. Generally, bail bonds people are located near the jail, but that doesn't mean that your family member is in that particular jail. So, check with your family member to make sure that you have the information about the exact jail they are in, as well as the street address of the jail. This is especially important if you are working with a local bail bonds person who is working with a jail that isn't in your city.
Bail Amount
While the bonds agent can get that information for you by contacting the jail, it's easier if you have the information with you so you can give it to them. That way they will be able to tell you immediately how much you are going to need to put up for them to write the bond and get your family member out of jail. It will just cut time out of the entire process and make sure your family member spends less time in jail than they might otherwise.
Booking Number
Make sure that you know the full name and booking number for your family member so that the bail bonds agent gets the right person out of jail. There may be four Joe Smiths in the jail, so you want to make sure that your cousin Josiah Wilbur Smith gets released and not someone else's cousin Joanna Elaine Smith. Having the booking number and case number, if possible, will help to avoid that issue, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. You can find the booking number in a couple of different ways. One is that you can look at the booking paperwork. Another is that many correctional facilities have a search engine on their site that you can use to get the number from.
